Kagome is my favourite female character. No matter how many books I read, or manga, or comics, or movies or anime I watch, it doesn't matter, Kagome is my absolute favourite female creation ever.
To be honest, I can't really explain why I like her so much, but she's long since wormed her way inside my heart and she's stayed there for years.
I'm a great big unashamed fan of Kagome and Sesshoumaru together. I read a lot of crossovers with Kagome in them, but the (not-so) secret pleasure I go back to whenever I get bored is Kagome and Sesshoumaru.
I adore 'Unspoiled' because it spans so many eras, and the relationships between the characters are not skimped on. There's something so special and heartwarming about a chibi!Sesshoumaru deciding to 'keep' Kagome, not quite knowing why she means so much to him. Add to that a future!Sesshoumaru wondering what happened to his nameless girl, and an even more future Sesshoumaru living in the modern era and you have a tale that spans centuries and is well worth reading.

Even though there's obviously romance between Sesshoumaru and Kagome, this story doesn't sprint straight towards it. It lets friendships form, relationships deepen, characters to mature, and suffer loss, and gain rewards, and then it blends everything together in one epic, glorious story.
