Eye see....

Gah!
I had to go to the hospital the day before yesterday for an eye appointment. The doctor I'd seen on Tuesday had taken a look at my eye and he was pretty worried. Apparently, the blood clot wasn't healing, it was getting worse.
Instead of drying and the blood being reabsorbed back into my body, my eye is leaking fluid, bleeding out and collecting. He said that I would probably need to have either an operation or laser surgery, unfortunately, due to where the fluid is located, the operation/process could do more damage than than the blood at the moment.
Suffice it to say I was quite worried. ::rolls eyes:: *talk about an understatement!*
When the doctor finished looking at my eye he asked if I was doing anything the next morning, which would have been Wednesday. I said no, so he arranged for an appointment to see the photographer the next morning, so they could take some pictures of the back of my eye. The procedure was supposed to be simple.
Hah!
So I went in on Wednesday morning, got the drops put in to dilate my pupils ::and F**k do they sting, kinda like acid:: *shivers* They put them in three times.
After a while I was called in for the nurse to inject some dye into my veins for the pictures. She had a bit of trouble finding a vein, ::most doctors think I'm weird 'cos they can never find any veins, much less any blood::, but eventually she decided she'd found a viable spot in the back of my right hand. ::screams::
Please excuse any bad language from here on in.
The nurse was nice enough, but this fucking needle was a nightmare! She pushed it in so fucking slowly, and then she told me that maybe she'd gone too deep. Sh she tried to pull the needle out, only it didn't want to leave.
After a bit of yanking she managed to extract it.....and we found out why it didn't want to fucking come out.
The needle had bent into a reversed 'C' shape INSIDE my hand! ::whimpers pitifully::
The nurse was horrified and she threw away the needle. She left the room to get a doctor to try instead. While she was gone I noticed that the back of my hand was swelling. The nurse walked back in and actually sore, the blood was building up in a small balloon, about the size of a pea, in the spot she pulled the needle out from.
Quick as a flash, the nurse got her thumb and pressed down as hard as she could on the lump, forcing the blood back into the vein. I do NOT recommend trying THAT at home.
Put it this way, the needle mark and the resultant bruising is STILL dark and takes up about half the back of my right hand, hence me ranting here now, wishing these damn painkillers actually *worked*.
I started to feel dizzy, nd the next thing I knew I woke up on the floor.
Apparently I'd collapsed and started convulsing and shaking. They called out a trolley and took me up to A&E (Accidents and Emergency) to get me checked out 'cos of the fit I'd had. Remembering that at this time, the drops they'd put in my eyes prevented me from seeing anything more than one massive blur, and that ANY light felt like I was staring at the corona of the sun, I never did get my appointment with the eye doctor!
After a whole afternoon of being poked, prodded, tested and generally being made to feel like a bit of a pincushion nd guinea pig, the doctors eventually let my go home.
Only that's not all......the doctors were worried about my shaking and ultra-low blood pressure, so now I have to go see a damn Neurologist! I only went to see about my eye!!
Gah!
Anyway, my eye appointment is now re-scheduled for next Wednesday, and they've reassured me that they will NOT be repeating the same procedure as before ::dances for joy:: and that they will find an alternate route for figuring out what to do.
As it is, this has taken me most of the evening to type, and I've only stuck by writing this because I NEED to vent.
Wish me luck won't you.
I always KNEW there was a reason for why I avoided doctors and hospitals....this just proves it. *winces* My poor, poor hand.
So you lot are going to have to be patient for me to write. I am still writing, but at the moment I can only type for about a quarter of the time I normally would, thanks to the frickin' pain in my hand. *sigh* And it's not fun trying to type one-handed.
Right, see ya all later. This is probably going to be my last update for a while. *moans*
Hugs,
