Today's been a pretty busy day. Tony took me out to a funfair. It opened at five and closes at nine, and even though we left at four twenty and it should only have taken half an hour to get there, because of the crappy buses it took over an hour and a half! --laughs--

We went on a ride, had something to eat (because both of us had only had time for breakfast and it was nearly six by then) and went on another ride when Tony started getting dizzy and nauseous. He's usually very hardy - I suppose being in the army will do that to you - but he got paler and paler.

He refused to go home, and so I bullied him into buying two bottles of water for him to sip. He insisted I go on some rides by myself (literally, dragging me to them and then sitting down and pouting at me - and seriously? A grown man pouting is so damn pitiful that I couldn't refuse him) so I went on two rides and then made him sit while I went and fetched us two big mugs of tea.

The tea helped. Tony also figured out what the problem was. His food had been contaminated by coffee. Since he's allergic to coffee, even a mild cross-contamination of his food makes him ill. Did that get him to agree to go home? Like hell. --snort--

A bottle of water and a mug of tea later he insisted he was feeling better and even decided that he was going to win me something at one of those fairground games. He did look much better, even though he was pale, so I figured, why not? At the very least I could see if he wavered when he stood, but nope, he was as steady as a rock. He's really good at hiding when he's ill.

After winning me an awesome big purple seahorse plushie we went and sat down under a tree and he almost fell asleep in my lap - and I wasn't complaining in the slightest. --laughs-- After a while, he insisted on moving and making the most of our tickets, so I persuaded him to go on the merry-go-round with me - not on the horses, but in one of those half-enclosed booths. I swear, the ride was so gentle it looked like he was going to fall asleep!

He insisted that he was feeling better and that the tea helped, so we compromised. I would go on one more ride of his choosing and then we'd go home. Simple, right?

Of course not! This is England, and no English date out would be the same without some rain. --snicker-- The ride he chose was one of the ones that you get strapped into and you can't release yourself. Well, as soon as I get strapped in it starts to pour down with rain, and because the machine was already started the guy put us through the whole ride, complete through hailstones and globules of raindrops. It was brilliant and horrible at the same time. By the time the guy released us all we were literally soaked to the bone. I mean we were really, really wet, I was soaked down to my bra and panties!

Tony, the cheeky bugger, had taken refuge in the enclosed arcade and was happily playing away at the machines. --grin-- He was slightly damp, but looked refreshed and happy. God! Bad weather really would be the thing to cheer him up, eh?

Thankfully, by the time we crowded into the arcade with everyone else and ten minutes had passed, the rain died down to a gentle shower and we made a run for it - almost! Tony got distracted by one of the other prize stalls and decided to have a go at winning himself a toy gun, the type that shoots soft bullets. Of course, he won it on his first go - lucky sod. --snicker--

It didn't take us long to run to shelter outside the funfair and call for a cab to take us home, unfortunately after drying off and sitting down he ended up running to the bathroom to be sick. He's now camped out on the couch asleep. I would wake him up to move him to the bed, but I'm hoping that in an hour or two he'll feel up to having some soup.

He's breathing okay now, but he really did worry me. He's so stubborn! I know he really wanted our 'date' to be perfect but it was really hard to try and get across to the the fact that no matter how many rides he put me on, I wasn't going to have fun if I was worrying about him. --sigh--

I love him, I really do, but he's more stubborn and unmovable than a mountain. --laughs--

Here's to hoping he'll feel better tomorrow!

Hugs,

Jaz

P.S. On the way home we saw two rainbows, and Tony was well enough to tease me about them, so I'm taking that as a good sign, that he was well enough to tease me. =^___^=
