Last night at around 10pm, I had this huge brain boom and I sat down and wrote out my entire plot outline for NaNo in one go. --snerk-- It fills up 8 A4 sheets of plain paper from beginning to end, and I've now spread out to my second living room wall. --laughs. My corner is boxed in in multi-coloured sheets of A4 paper covered in writing.

Also, my plot suddenly boomed sideways. --laughs-- Two of my main OCs (needed to move the plot forward and stir things up for the canon characters) are Till Eulenspiegel and Sosruko, who are other Trickster deities who were friends with Loki, not knowing that Loki was really Gabriel, and are pissed off at Lucifer for killing their prank-buddy.

I've branched out to involve the Seelie/Unseelie courts. I needed a culture of prank-loving trick-playing beings, and while there are a helluva a lot of trickster individuals, there are surprisingly few actual societies based on games and pranks and tricks.

Since Supernatural is heavily leaning on angels and demons, I needed throwaway characters and cultures for Dean and Cas to go up against, whilst not actually facing the 'Big Bad' --coughANGELScough--

I say throwaway, but what I mean is that faceless thronging mass of background for Dean and Cas to struggle with. I'm not fond of OCs, so I'm trying to keep individuals few and far between.

I haven't sorted out every little issue with the storyline, and I think I'm going to have a lot of work to get things to mesh together without being choppy and nonsensical, but I have hope that I'll be able to get the basic story out so I can work on it.

Nothing I've ever written has been beta'd. I did try a few times, but with the first one I was still waiting three months later for her to get back to me about a 5k fic, with another she kept changing what I'd written (in one case entire paragraphs) and not marking the changes, deleting anything she didn't like, which was highly frustrating because she didn't actually talk to me, she'd just delete, rewrite and go 'There, use that instead.' with my story completely changed and half the time not fitting in to the previous chapters.

I've been a bit too wary to find another beta since then. I'm also not sure what a beta does, other than look over your work and help you make it actually work. Point out plot holes, mistakes, talk to you about what you're doing so you don't go off on tangents maybe? Give you a kick up the arse perhaps?

One day left and counting. I'm so damn nervous it's unreal.
