Velvet Goldmine
Sep. 17th, 2003 12:35 amExcellent, excellent film. I didn't really know what to expect, but a friend had recommended it so I figured, what the hell? I'm definitely glad I watched it. It was so strange. Almost surreal. Heh. I must admit, I was a bit surprised, had the film been an anime or manga, it would have certainly come under YAOI!
The actors were yummy and the characterisations were beyond riveting. At a few points during the film I could barely breathe because I was waiting for *something* to happen.
The music wasn't too bad either.
I felt that maybe it ended a little oddly, and not quite clear cut, but I think that may have been because I didn't want the film to end.
It was certainly a very British film. *grin* Although, if anyone is thinking of watching it, be warned....it has male and female nudity, male/female, male/male sex and in one scene...well, basically an orgy. There are gay/homosexual and bisexual issues all combined with.....of course....music and some drugs. But thankfully there were only a few drug scenes, and they were pretty hilarious.
Anyhoo, I'm going to bed now, I have another hospital appointment first thing, so I'm going to need a full night's sleep. *snicker* ::looks at clock::
